Decorated with its sunshine yellow awning, Bakers & Co. up the Gloucester road in Bristol makes an appealing prospect of a morning.

Mozy over early or be prepared to queue a little because this place is deservedly popular, as are their caramel brioche buns – another reason to race the crowd.

Inside there’s a bright, scandi vibe. The open kitchen and counter is bedecked with scrummy looking bakes and the coffee is particularly good.

The menu is a tactful mix between brunch staples and some more original signature dishes. Or, if you’re super picky, you can effectively build your own from the multitude of side orders on offer.

They also offer lunch though their website says they’re inspired by San Francisco where brunch is a ‘ritual’, and it shows.

Bakers & co. is well worth a visit and walking off your food coma wandering back down along Gloucester Road is a lovely way to start the day.
